Acceptable use

MFN is a community. Use it like one. You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, or target anyone — including hate speech or slurs aimed at race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or body size.
• Post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, or that sexualizes minors.
• Impersonate another person, gym, or business, or misrepresent your credentials as a coach or trainer.
• Spam the platform, scrape it, or use bots or automated tools against it.
• Attempt to break, probe, or bypass the platform's security, or access data that isn't yours.
• Post content you don't have the rights to, including other people's photos, video, or music.

Our Community Guidelines spell out the day-to-day expectations and are part of these terms.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to have an account. You're responsible for what happens under it, including keeping your login credentials secure and accurate. One person per account — don't share logins. If you think your account has been compromised, email us right away at hello@melaninfitnessnation.com.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you post — your photos, videos, writing, workouts, and PRs. We don't claim it.

By posting, you grant MFN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform — showing it in feeds, on your profile, on gym and event pages, and in the app's previews and thumbnails. This license exists so the platform can technically function, and it ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared by others or retained in routine backups for a limited period.

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to post what you post, including permission from people who appear in your photos and videos.

Gym directory listings

The verified fitness spot directory only works if the information in it is true. Anything you submit or edit — ownership, address, hours, contact details, photos — must be accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Claiming a gym you do not own or are not authorized to represent is prohibited. So is submitting a listing under false pretenses, or claiming Black ownership for a business that isn't Black-owned. We may ask for verification before granting or keeping a claim, and we may remove listings, revoke claims, and suspend accounts over false submissions. The same standard applies to business directory listings.

Coaching relationships

Coaching arrangements made through MFN are between the coach and the athlete. MFN is not a party to them. We do not employ, vet, certify, supervise, or guarantee any coach, and we do not process or handle payment between users. Any agreement, schedule, pricing, refund, or dispute is yours to work out with the other person. Verify credentials for yourself before you hire someone.

No medical advice

MFN is a social and tracking platform, not a healthcare provider. Nothing on it — including posts, programs, coaching content, and anything shown on MFN TV — is medical advice. Talk to a qualified physician or healthcare professional before starting a training program, changing your diet, or acting on anything you read here, especially if you have an existing condition or injury. You train at your own risk.

Termination

You can stop using MFN and request account deletion at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or the Community Guidelines, that puts other members at risk, or that we are required to remove by law. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

MFN is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard on it, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that directory information will always be current. Content posted by members is theirs, not ours, and we don't endorse it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MFN is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or injuries arising out of your use of the platform, your training, or your dealings with other members, gyms, coaches, or businesses. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we'll flag significant changes to members. Continuing to use MFN after an update means you accept it. Questions go to hello@melaninfitnessnation.com.
